Anyone remember Marathon Bars? Those things cost, like, a quarter and were about a foot long.

At times, Smarties can be like crack to me. Necco Wafers aren't that bad. Mike N Ike's taste fine, but I'm convinced that kind of gelatenious consistency never was meant to be placed in the human body.

I'm pretty indifferent to the original topic of candy corn, but I will NEVER AGAIN hang with my Peeps. Blech.

And what was that old-time candy that came in a bag with something like four sections that had different kinds of flavored sugar? It had a small, white candy stick you dipped in the flavored sugar.

    Ah, fun dip.....mmmmmmm

Anyone else remember Lolas, the triangle-typed shape frozen thing that came in grape, lime etc.? Or was that just a Canuckistan thing?

Yes, fun dip. I'm convinced the little white sticks were chalk doused in sugar.

    Lolas? Must be you hosers.

Remember, Smarties are two different confections depending on which side of the border you live.

GWN- Bogus, poor-grade M&M (plain) ripoff
USofA- Sugary tartness in a roll

The old candy site is worthless if you can't get Turkish Taffy. Chocolate or Vanilla please! (Or for Canada, Mackintosh Toffee, which I know is still around but I always forget to pick some up when I visit Canuckistan).

It was Fun Dip or Big League Chew during Little League games, and a Sprite float afterward. Life used to be so grand.

Used to be? You mean that's not your after-work routine?

Hmmm, now I know why I have to bring boxes of Smarties to my Canuckistani-born cousin whenever we visit the OC.

    Sprite float?

A clear liquid mixed with vanilla ice cream?

That would seem to look like a big tall glass of manchowder.

Big League Chew is awesome, I still get it every once in a while.

I'm also a big fan of root beer barrels, and old-time wintergreens.

Sadly, no. I'd rather not give my dentist the satisfaction -- or the money.
