Based on Andy Dalton's track record at night in big games- NO

Agreed. I don't see any reason to trust Dalton in a spot like this.

Schefter says the Bears are starting Jimmy Clausen at QB this week.

    Hoo boy!

Toward the end of the game Monday, Gruden was kicking around the notion that maybe the Bears should have stuck with McCown and spent all that Cutler money elsewhere.

And then after the game this sadly hilarious episode happened -- all the reporters were in the locker room and didn't know Cutler was at the podium, so his press conference consisted of three questions from ESPN's Mike Sando and then a puzzled look toward the Bears' PR guy about where everybody was.

At this point I think Kristin Cavallari and RickStain are all Jay has left.

When Clausen starts, only 17 of the 32 teams will have remained constant with their starting QB this season. Five teams have gone through three starters, which would seem to be the epitome of desperation.

Also, out of 51 QBs to start this season, 11 have lifetime win percentages of .280 or worse as a starter. Including Colt McCoy, Drew Stanton and Jimmy Clausen.

They can lose with Jay, but they are not going to win without him.

Looking deeper on that page ... this intrigues me. These guys are all currently active NFL quarterbacks.

    Logan Thomas
    Dustin Vaughan
    Landry Jones
    Ryan Nassib
    Sean Renfree

The only rookie QB to start every game this year has been Derek Carr. Something to remember during the Mariota-Winston draft frenzy that's just getting started.

I thought Saracen was QB1 & he was a WR?

I think this is an attempt by Trestman to keep his job. If for some reason the Bears can beat the Lions, maybe he can make that case.

Admitted, it is a desperate attempt.

Also, worst Thursday night game of the year by a mile. Is this the only primetime game for both teams?

I sure would like to see Zag's take on this.
