I'm just stunned I missed that.

That's probably because Schefter didn't report it.

That's probably true. I don't think it was on NFL Network either, because I have that on almost non-stop during the day.

Yeah, it's crazy that wasn't reported as big news. He says anything about RG3 and it leads SportsCenter, but something like that is pretty significant.

It sure sounds like Josh McDaniels is the favorite to get the Niners job.

As a Niners fan, this scares the shit out of me.

It's the old fallacy. An assistant gets the rep of being good with quarterbacks, which the Niners need, because he has the luck to be working with a good quarterback.

I saw a note a couple of days ago that McDaniels declined to interview last time because he wasn't crazy about their front office and management structure. I can't imagine current circumstances would make him feel any better about that.

Come on, look what he did with Tebow.

And even then, the Chargers hired the guy who made Tebow look competent.

I wouldn't blame him at all. I also have a hard time thinking they'll hire another coach with a reputation for being so volatile. If I'm the Niners, I'm looking at Bevell or Pep Hamilton. Pep could come in and probably keep some of the defensive staff.

I have zero faith in the Niners making the right move. Hell, I'm seeing Holmgren and Shanahan rumors.
