Addition by subtraction: The Pistons were 5-23 when they waived Josh Smith. They're 5-0 since.

The first comment about Derrick Rose is too much.

without Anthony and Smith the Knicks are finding it hard to score, but at least they look like they give a damn.

Make it 7-0 as the Pistons knock off a 2-night sweep of the Spurs and Mavs.

The Cavs gave up TWO first-round picks for Timofey Mozgov. Granted, I don't watch nearly as much NBA as some of you, so please explain to me how this isn't one of the dumbest trades in history.

Blatt has coached Mozgov and is in love with him. He's still in his 20s, doesn't suck and we live in a world where 7-plus-footers have overinflated value (see Roy Hibbert). Plus, one of the picks is top-15 protected, and the other is top-18 protected, I believe. And, neither are the Cavs' regular picks - they are additional picks acquired in other trades.

From the Akron paper's Cavs beat guy...

"My first reaction to the Mozgov trade was admittedly: “drastic overpay.” Since the start of the 2011-12 season, here are the players who have been traded for multiple first-round picks: Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, James Harden and Andre Iguodala."

He goes on to say that the Cavs look at that, and the Knicks trade, as one big trade, which kinda softens the blow. But still...that seems insane.

There are few things in sports more worthless than a non-lottery NBA draft pick - or, in some years, a pick outside the top 1 or 2.

Also, you'd be hard-pressed to argue that this is dumber than the Howard trade, in hindsight.
