That is far from the first time Greene has been called dirty.

Those players wore it with a badge of honor.

Butkus, really? Yeah he was never thought of as dirty.

The definition of "dirty" has changed.

Picture speaks itself but incident took place Oct 5 1975 vs Browns. Joe Green repeatedly kicked Bob Mckay in the nuts.

I accept your apology for questioning my NFL acumen.

The Browns avenged that the next year when Bradshaw was German suplexed by Turkey Jones.

FWIW, the 1950s were the golden age of cheap shots. Look up Hardy Brown, or Ed Meadows' hit on Bobby Layne, or any number of other players and incidents. Those guys tried to break jaws and put guys in the hospital.

    Yeah, probably.

But the thinking today is that a cheap shot could destroy a seven- or eight-figure career (not to mention a nine-figure investment by the team). In the 1950s it just meant that your summer job became your full-time job if you couldn't play football anymore. No real drop in income.

They're not protecting players to be nice. They're doing it to protect perceived value.

    Picks for this weekend...

    Cowboys over Packers
    Seahawks over Panthers
    Patriots over Ravens
    Broncos over Colts

I would consider three of the four games to be great matchups. This is probably my favorite NFL weekend of the year.

Story circulating that Christie pushed Port Authority to award big contract to big company owned in part by ... Jerry Jones.
