It's silly if the see-no-evil style of reporting on this story continues, but it's not exactly unusual to see reporters use a laughable amount of restraint while news is breaking. We slam CNN for doing the opposite. I mean, come on. You'll see stories where someone is shot 15 times, drawn and quartered, and beheaded for good measure, and early stories will say that "police will not say whether they are considering the crime a homicide."

That might be hyperbole, but it's not too far off. I understand there's some bloodthirst here to see radical Islam get its well-earned blame here, but let's wait more than an hour before we nominate these early reports for the Lib'ruhl Media Hall of Shame.

The only place restraint appears is in the heads of tinfoil hat lunatics.

 

Of course the media know what the motive is, and is not restrained in reporting it in this case.

Fuck, the media got pissed when Obama went golfing after speaking about the beheading of James 'Jim" Foley.

Nothing clarifies the thinking of the media like an attack on the media.

Shoot up a cafeteria full of soldiers while shouting "Allahu Akbar" and the media isn't sure what the motive is. Try to blow up a bomb in Times Square and the media suggests mortgage payments may have been what drove the bomber.

But, in this case, they've got it all figured out.

 

Seeing the 2 cops dead make me wonder if it's tied to the Brown / Garner protests.
