Which, as you've alluded to, is pretty bad.

Freedom of speech is fast becoming a quaint notion.

Have we determine whether Charlie Hediboo is a satirical newspaper or magazine? I've
    heard both.

Oh, I think it is mostly because they are scared.

But, two weeks ago, it was our patriotic fucking duty to go see a stupid movie. The President criticized Sony, and a popular line of thinking was that if all the theaters showed the movie, then there was no way they could all be targets.

And, there is safety in numbers. Every newspaper should run these cartoons.

But, instead, all of those telling us to see The Interview really just meant to say that they didn't think the Norks were capable of pulling anything off.

But, what to think of the Times decision? Are they afraid, and unwilling to say so, or are they just following policy:

But the New York Times explained their decision not to show the images in an email from a spokesperson: “Under Times standards, we do not normally publish images or other material deliberately intended to offend religious sensibilities. After careful consideration, Times editors decided that describing the cartoons in question would give readers sufficient information to understand today’s story.”

And, where was this policy just two years ago when they published a photo of "The Holy Virgin Mary" to accompany this article:

The deputy mayor, Joseph J. Lhota, never went to see the painting. Just hearing about it was enough.

The eight-foot-tall portrait of the Virgin Mary, a semi-abstract collage hanging at the Brooklyn Museum, contained clumps of elephant dung and cutouts of female genitalia from pornographic magazines. Mr. Lhota, a Roman Catholic, was horrified. “As a concept,” he said in a recent interview, “it was offensive.”

The Times also published a picture of Piss Christ:

Andres Serrano with a print of his photograph ‘Piss Christ’ after it was vandalized in Australia in 1997.

The NYT has become a satirical newspaper.

I bet these killers don't, and would not, call themselves EXTREMISTS.

They'd call themselves Muslims, and not radical ones, either, because to them, what they believe, think and do is perfectly normal.

    What they are is terrorists.
