Boston gets 2024 U.S. Summer Olympic bid

    Sailing in Newport would seem to be the only one.
    Either way, the tourists can't all stay in Boston. There will be plenty of Euros who want to come see our beaches.

    You will have a blast. Two week party’s usually are.

    Still doesn't seem like a good reason to go into massive debt with all the cost overruns. When you see the initial budget, double it. Beware of the legacy bullshit you will be fed.

    I've been to four Olympics (I know I'm lucky). I know they leave no legacy but happy memories. That's all the legacy I need

    Flame lighter has to have been an Olympic athlete. Bird makes it. Russell will be damn near 90 by then. Don't forget Mike Eruzione.

    My money would be on Joan Benoit. She's from Maine, but she's also the first women's marathon winner. And won Boston twice.
