He should have, but instead he made a poor decision that cost his team its final chance to win. The Ravens had plenty of time. He didn't have to force something deep, but he made a big mistake with the game on the line.

 

He's very good and not as good as Brady. So that happened. Mostly, Baltimore got no pass rush in the second half.

 

Patriots didn't give Ravens time to get a pass rush in the second half. A TON of quick throws.

 

Nobody is saying he isn't a very good quarterback, but he is still a step down from the elite and that last interception is a reminder of why I say that.

 

If your defense can't hold the other team to 30 points or less in a playoff game you aren't going to win.

Flacco's last INT was a poor pass and decision, but the Ravens defense lost that game, not the QB

 

Oh, no question the defense failed and overall, Flacco played a hell of a game. That said, aside from the Super Bowl run, he has some history of making the big mistake with the game on the line and he did it again today.

 

Tough break for Seahawks on the INT that was called off. They should have found a place for Blandino on the Puget Sound booze cruise.

 

How did Chancellor time that leap perfectly twice? More amazingly, how did he not block either kick?

 

Just catching up on this thread, but I'm assuming you were referring to the Ravens' end around on 3rd-and-1? It's absolutely bizarre how many coaches will call a play that requires their runner to cover 10-15 yards to pick up the 1-yard for a first down.

I can understand a play-action pass in the hopes of breaking a big play to a wide open receiver. But a handoff 12-yards deep when you're trying to gain 1 yard is comical.

 

I'd argue the Patriots coaching staff won that game. They flashed a stat during the game that the Pats hadn't allowed a second-half TD in six games. They gave up one in the second half of this one, but once again, the Patriots' coaching staff made better halftime adjustments than the opposition.
