And he still is getting HC interviews. I still don't think any team is that stupid, unless they try to pull a Kiffin and have the old man working as the coordinator.

I wonder if it's a lot of Jedi mind tricks.

"Hey Jerry, remember when you won those Super Bowl titles with the team YOU assembled? YOU had great offensive linemen here. Maybe YOU should draft some more."

    or

"Johnny Manziel is not the droid you're looking for."

Well, to be fair, this would kinda suck.

"Cleveland.com reported one source as saying some coaches became angered when play calls were recently requested or suggested via text from the press box by a high-ranking non-coaching staff member."

Sounds like Rex is just about to sign as the next coach of the Bills per Schefter.

  8. How much sense does that make?
You hire a great defensive mind to coach a team with a LOT of the same issues of team he just left.
The Bills already have a fantastic defense. They have offense issues. QB issues. And Rex Ryan is the guy who can fix it? Based on what?

    Good luck with that Buffalo.

I posted the link on the offseason thread. Seems like a slight upgrade, but nothing more. The OC hire will be huge. Wonder who will make it.

Will be interesting to see if there's an AFC East swap and the Jets hire Marrone.

I posted this on the NFL off season thread

  11. I could understand hiring Ryan IF you already an good, even serviceable offense in place. But they don't. QBs issues aside, they also need a RB. Fred Jackson is 33. Spiller is fast, but not a durable every down back.
There is NO QB in the draft that's going to fix Buffalo. So you stick what you have or try to sign a free agent: Hoyer????
    Is there a RB? Maybe.
The Bills are going to trust Ryan to do it?
Buffalo is going to be in the same position its been in the for the last few years ... 8-8, 9-7, 7-9, on the edge of the playoffs.
