If Elway wants to make another try at a SB with Manning, he's not hiring a first-time HC unless it's one who Manning knows well. Gase is the only person who fits that profile.

I don't think Gase is getting this job.

Really, people? The guy has a 119-89 career record, six division titles, a 14-8 playoff record and two Super Bowl appearances. He took a team quarterbacked by Jake freaking Delhomme to the Super Bowl. His coaching job in the Tebow season was one of the best in history -- he took a team that had been given up for dead, completely reshaped his offense and his game plan/philosophy to fit the limited skill set of a QB no one in the league believed could play, then somehow made his team believe it could win that way, then actually reeled off a winning streak and got to the playoffs, where his team beat the heavily favored Steelers.

Hey, I'm not saying John Fox is Vince Lombardi Jr., but he ain't chopped liver, either.

Sorry, Joe. He had to go. That bullshit doesn't fly in Denver. They have standards!

I would think Fox is the best coach Manning has played for, not that that's saying much.

Schefter just tweeted that Garrett is signing a 5-year-deal to stay in Dallas.

I just never had the sense that he was an innovator -- that, often, he seemed surprised and lost on the sidelines.

That 2003 burst to the Super Bowl was beyond expectation but he also beat the Quincy Carter Cowboys, Mike Martz and Andy Reid in the playoffs.

Fox rode that a LONG way in Charlotte.

Those coaches he beat had players, and in Phillys case very good ones.

He also got them to the nfc championship game in 05.

Once again, y'all: John Fox took Jake Freakin Delhomme to the Super Bowl. And won a playoff game with the worst NFL quarterback in all recorded history. The guy can coach.

Del Rio likely to be named Raiders HC today, according to various reports.

Fox is interviewing with the Bears today. Connection to Accorsi, who is the lead consultant for the team. Wouldn't mind seeing a defensive guy in that chair again. Talk is that he wants K. Shanahan and Dennis Allen as coordinators.
