Hasn't Mike Shanahan been at least linked to damn near every HC opening? And it looks like he'll get zero of them.

Saw a headline yesterday that Fangio said he'd only stay with the Niners as HC or Shanahan's DC.

Not that this is saying much, but I could see Del Rio being successful there, at least compared to the 15 coaches or so who have had that job since their last playoff appearance.

Successful in Oakland is being in the 7-9 to 9-7 range and not being eliminated from playoff contention until the second half of the season.

Some guy named Joe Barry is apparently the Redskins' new defensive coordinator. Anyone heard of him?

So the Redskins hired the DC for the 0-16 Lions? Delicious.

As long as you're not a Redskins fan, the Redskins never disappoint.

LOL. Joe Barry is also Rod Marinelli's son-in-law. There was a kerfuffle at some point when, I believe, a Freep columnist asked Marinelli if he sometimes wished his daughter had married a better defensive coordinator.

EDIT: It was a Detroit News columnist:
