I think that the dismissal of Miller is because he's graduating and can go play somewhere else immediately. He simply has more options than the other two.

Also: It was a hell of a three-game sample size.

That it was. And I'm not even saying Jones couldn't beat out either of the other two. He most certainly could. Just noting how quickly we sometimes forget/dismiss things.

So Jones had to be the Heisman front-runner, right?

Not dismissing. Acknowledge the other 2 would start for 99 percent of the other schools.

But c'mon, would you seriously consider not starting Cardale next season? No offense to the other two but Cardale is THE guy.

The only real fear is that he lets it go to his head and doesn't work on things he needs to work on because he thinks his shit don't stink.

I wouldn't name Jones the starter without a competition, no. And I doubt Meyer will either. And I wouldn't be surprised at all if Barrett, Miller, or both came out ahead of Jones. It's happened already. Twice.

There's a time and place for "competition". I hate that whole "competition" thing for every little slice of life.

Name Cardale No. 1 going into spring practice and he's the guy. The offense goes through him (and Zeke) and if the other 2 want to suck it up and play for back-up status, great.

This isn't rocket science. The best college football quarterback in the land is Cardale Jones, the hottest 3-game #HotTake notwithstanding.

Wasn't Cardale the No. 2 coming out of spring ball, but then he was just too immature (I think that tweet about majoring in football was part of it) and got demoted. He has to be No. 1. But Barrett shouldn't be summarily dismissed.

I could see Jones getting very happy with himself, like 20-more-pounds happy. He's losing the job then.
