Kiper says he "could go" in the second or third round.

That's a mighty big leap for such a non-guarantee. But, as you noted, he isn't likely to beat out Barrett either. It's one of the odder draft situations you'll see.

Someone will probably fall in love with his arm. Someone always does with those guys.

Schefter says Jones has declared for the NFL Draft. Wow. I wish him the best of luck, but man. That's a ballsy decision.

I mean, it's obvious he has no interest in school. Returning to OSU means he not only has to win the starting job to bolster his resume, he also has to remain eligible for at least another semester. When it comes to risk/reward, declaring is probably Jones's best bet to maximize his value and, hopefully, he puts in the work to become a true pro QB and maximize his career earnings. Not sure he will, but it seems obvious he's not going to put in the work to become a true student, so what the hell ... Roll the dice.

It isn't listed specifically, but best I can tell, Jones is 23 and turns 24 in September. (Wikipedia says he was born in "1992/93" and he had a tweet about his birthday back in Sept.)

WTF, a 23-year-old sophomore? He Mormon or something?

If he graduated high school at 18, a year at prep school makes him 19, red-shirt freshman as a 20-year old, freshman year at 21, sophomore season at 22. Maybe he got held back a year in grade school?

Probably the right decision for him.

One of Ted Ginn Sr.'s Cleveland Glenville kids. "Typical" (for Glenville) street / tough upbringing sort of thing. Was 19 when he graduated HS in '11, spent the semester at Fork Union (to "mature" and get the grades together), and has been in Columbus since. As pern said, redshirted, then 2 years eligible. Now he's 23

At least this means he won't be out of the NFL until he's 24.

He'll be the first quarterback taken. #HotTakezYo!

From a football standpoint, probably. Just screams of "won't end well / cautionary tale."
