Don't even know what that's supposed to mean, "LOL," but this is one of those moments where it definitely pays to consider the source.

I wonder if Meyer already told him Barrett is the starter going into next season.

That's what I'm wondering, too. Did Jones straight-up ask Meyer: "Who's the starter? If it's not me, I'm out."

Honestly? I think it's more likely, hard as it seems to be for folks to believe, that Miller is coming back.

The weirdest running joke in board history is that someone gets exercise. Hilarious.

Meyer's comments to the effect that Jones' "brand" would never be stronger certainly suggest that he didn't think Jones would be the 2015 starter.

Define ending well ... Seems to me, if he gets drafted in the fourth round or higher, he probably maxed out his draft value by declaring and, if that's the case I'd say it ended well, no matter if he goes on to have a decent pro career. I don't think another season at OSU is going to make him a better pro quarterback.

I'm guessing here, but I would think that has to have something to do with it. I can't imagine he'd make this decision without first talking to Meyer and finding out what his options at OSU are going to be. If Meyer told him Barrett will start next season, this was a no-brainer. If Meyer said he'd have to compete with Barrett (who Jones has already lost out to in the past), I'd still say it's a no-brainer.

The only way returning to OSU makes sense is if he's the starter. Otherwise, he's best served declaring, working his tail off to get ready for the combine and his pro day and doing his best to get max value out of the draft.

If he were really smart, he'd hire someone to help him come up with a financial plan for whatever guaranteed money he gets on draft day. He may not have a very long pro career (he may turn out great, who knows?), so he'd be wise to come up with a plan to make his money work for him.

Sounds like a lot of corners had to be cut to get him academically eligible for a D1 program.
