    And she's back.
From the looks of the comments, she posted a story proclaiming Cardale Jones was leaving Ohio State for the NFL Draft. In fairness, the conference was delayed and she might have had it on some kind of timer. When the story was changed to show he wasn't going, there was no mention of the previous version, which pissed them off even more. She claimed it was inadvertently published, the readers call bullshit.
Either way, sloppy at best and reckless at worst.

She posted the following in the comments.

@Genevieve Cat We apologize. A draft of this story was inadvertently published before it was ready.

Never mind why the hell a reporter for al.com would be breaking news about the Ohio State quarterback. What the hell is that about?

Sounds like the original story also had Ohio State playing Alabama in the Sugar Bowl

I'm all for second chances. It is, however, quite annoying to see both chances come before you even have a shot to get your first while doing everything the right way. But, perhaps the right way is overrated. I'm going to start covering games without any pants and create some buzz.

Wow, what a dumb bitch. Who in the hell hires her after her plagiarism surfaces, and who in the hell keeps her after a fiasco like this? This is pathetic. But, guess what, I bet the hit counts went through the roof so she actually helped AL.com make lots of money! WTF.

I'm not gonna name call. I am willing to bet she was humiliated and won't repeat the mistake. But in a just world someone would get busted down to some podunk paper, get a chance to prove yourself with a few years busting ass and then maybe -- maybe -- get that second opportunity at making it big. Moving straight up to another decent job doesn't seem to teach any lesson at all about why what she did was wrong.

This explanation doesn’t hold for me: “We apologize. A draft of this story was inadvertently published before it was ready.”

We as journos live in glass houses. If there is anyone in our profession who absolutely needs to be above reproach, it would be Natalie Pierre when considering less than six months have passed since the last incident.

The entire situation is downright sad.

I can see how this could happen and technically not be her fault. Maybe it's all her fault, but it could also be on a web producer who sent the story to web.

Natalie most likely had two initial drafts ready to go, like most any reporter does covering a breaking event where you're pretty sure what the news will be (and in this case, it was only going one of two ways). Both were in the system, but only one was supposed to go live when Cardale made his announcement, the other permanently killed. At an operation the size of AL.com, it wouldn't surprise me if not all reporters had access to the back end of the website and the site's web team handles things there. It very well could have been her telling the web desk to publish the story and the desk did so with the wrong one.

I don't know if this is how it happened, and it certainly doesn't make it OK, but I could very easily see it being the case and "inadvertently published" would actually be accurate.

Apologizes for calling the plagiarist a dumb bitch. She's actually quite brilliant to do the shit she has done and remain employed.
