The last 5 minutes (and overtime) of the Seattle Green Bay game was as intense a stretch as I've ever seen in any sport. Joe Buck said something to the effect, with 4 and change to play, that the Seahawks still have a shot theoretically and I thought, Get real, Joe. And even if I did kind of think Seattle would score to make it 19-14, because it would have been such a Wilson thing to do after playing the worst title game ever, leading them to within 5 points, I at no time thought they'd score and get the onside kick and score again. You know, you think it could happen but don't take the thought seriously.

    But it happened.

And then the Hail Mary 2-pointer.

One of the great Alcoa Fantastic Finishes of all time, even if Rodgers led 'em down for the tying field goal.

As for the other game, I'm more surprised the Colts played as if they didn't even want to be there.

Or isolate him for a WR screen and make him tackle.

To defend him a little, by the time he was hurt, they were correctly running on at least 1st & 2nd down to keep the clock running, so they didn't have as many chances to do it.

I agree. I couldn't believe they weren't going all out throwing at the one-armed Sherman. I didn't mind that brain fade, but to me it was as stunning (if not more) than anything else that happened in the final few minutes.

Ouch, sorry dude. Went a middling 2-1-1 yesterday, picking correctly on Green Bay +8 and over 45, while missing on the Colts (+7) and pushing on the over 52. Gave Pagano too much credit and thought he'd come up with a good game plan after getting spanked by the Pats earlier in the season.

Luck's Colts & the Patriots are starting to feel like Jordan's Bulls & the Pistons.

Check with exmediahack, but I'm pretty sure the Matthews knee injury is McCarthy's fault.

Another thing I noticed about that flag was one official came in and directed Daniels away from the two Seahawks players and did not throw a flag. Then a second official comes in after the whole thing is over and throws the flag. What's that about? He wasn't even there for it. If the first official had thrown the flag, OK. But the first official who was there for it all never threw his flag.

Why is everyone so hung up on that penalty? It was utterly meaningless. The Packers ended up with second-and-goal at the 1 on that drive.

Also caught the offsides that was missed on Rodgers' first INT. He has a SOP where, whenever an offsides is spotted, the ball is snapped and Rodgers gets a free play. Probably explains why he throws late and short to the end zone, where Sherman picked it off. I had opined that, if Rodgers was close to full health, he probably runs is for a first down. Instead I see what he was doing -- thinking it was a free play but it wasn't called. (Note: this was NOT why they lost. That was on the onside kick, the spent defense, falling down after Wilson's 4th INT and, oh yes, McCarthy getting all scared at the end of a tight time.)

To echo Barnwell today on McCarthy, "Thank You For Not Coaching".

I'm not hung up on it, either. They didn't get seven on that drive, anyway.

Wow, you're right about that. Definitely an offside missed on that play. And, as someone else noted, Sherman immediately bends down and yells something at Adams ... no taunting flag there. (I'm still going back to plays in my DVR on this game. Probably will for a few more days, too.)
