This off-season, Jed York makes Mark Davis look like Robert Kraft.

Non of these owners need to be celebrated. Kraft on occasion has worn the clown suit also.

With "Vols" in my name you'd think I loathe everything about Lane Kiffin...

...but the simple fact is the dude can coach offense. He's done it everywhere he's been. He's probably more suited to college than pro, given that he seems to connect so well with 18 year old kids...but still, I'd rate him just as high as little Shany.

I agree that he's probably better suited for college than pros. As a Niners fan, I want an OC who can try to do something with Kaepernick. I'd feel much better if it were someone like Trestman or Chudzinski than Kiffin.

I think Kiffin is a year or two away from getting a HC job at a second-tier school in a big conference. I could see him doing well there since he's a good recruiter. I think he would have done better if his first and second college HC jobs were somewhere other than Tennessee and USC.

Trestman worked wonders with Cutler, maybe he can do the same for Kaepernick.

Well, that's fair, but if we write off every coach who has failed with Cutler, there will be a long list of guys out of work.

Fangio joining the Bears, according to JLC. That's cool. The Redskins really needed the #EnergyGuy anyway.

Chan Gailey appears to be falling through for The Jets. No surprise that there is some confusion with The Jets.
Should lead to a fun introductory presser tomorrow.

I assume that The Jets opted to delay introduction so that Bowles could get a crash course in dealing with
the NY media and avoid looking like Jim Tomsula.

Now he's going to have to address OC story.

Cutler set a career high in TD passes this past season. Also set a career high in completion percentage. The latter, however, is deceiving because of all the fucking screen passes.

Cutler is one of those guys who when you look at his stats after the season you think, "Wow, those are actually pretty good numbers."

He had the spectacular game against the Niners and had a few games, like the loss to New England, where his stats make it seem like he played better than he actually did.

You ask most GMs if they'd take a QB who threw 28 TDs, 18 Ints and had a 88+ QB rating and you'd get a resounding yes.

Cutler's best hope is that the coach says, "OK, we're gonna run the ball and run the ball some more and you be ready to make plays when they're set up for you." Fox would seem to be that kind of guy.

Cutler is at his best when he is a complement to a good running game. He'll never be a guy capable of "carrying" an offense -- as the unemployed Phil Emery and Marc Trestman found out.
