If you take out the five or six completely worthless touchdown drives -- when his team was down 3+ scores in the fourth quarter, or when it was 45-7 at New England -- his numbers are garbage.

Cutler needs to change his default expression and things will be fine.

He's the classic example of someone who the stats don't tell the whole story.

When Cutler is on, he's a very good QB, but it becomes a question of how long does it last before he implodes?

Apparently, there are still eight OC openings.

At that rate Tony Sparano might even get another job.

  7. This why the only stat that matters with QBs are wins. :D

Yeah, except for the graphic that ESPN liked to show at the beginning of the season showing how Colin Kaepernick had won just as many games as Steve Young and Joe Montana had at that point of their careers. :D

They begin to if you consider fumbles as part of a quarterback's statistics.

It's interesting. A longtime NFL reporter once told me that the stat that mattered the most for QBs is TD-Int ratio.

I didn't agree with him then, and I don't now, even though this guy is probably one of the better NFL beat guys out there. I think it can be misleading.

I almost think you have to throw out the stats somewhat and just ask a coach, "If your job depended on you making the playoffs, would you be comfortable with this guy as your QB?"
