You said losing a national election should DQ anyone. You didn't restrict it to presidents losing.

    My fault for being imprecise.

Sometimes re-nominating a retread works (Nixon), sometimes it doesn't (Adlai Stevenson). Each party is free to do so, but it hasn't happened in 48 years. I think this time it's Jeb's nomination to lose.

He may run again. He'll win the nomination again if the GOP decides it wants to lose the general election.

Cran, we can only wish about Cruz. I think Jeb Bush will win it.

Yeah, Cruz sure is a dummy.

It's too bad Arkansas didn't have a "if you lose the general election, you can't run again" rule in place for the Governor's office.

Why don't you hear Paul Ryan's name mentioned very much as a potential presidential candidate? He seems to be such an obvious choice, and yet such an afterthought in these discussions. Why is that?

I wonder if they're rope-a-doping it a little bit by letting the other guys serve as the chum for cable TV, and he'll be a relatively late-arriving candidate.

Maybe it's because Ryan has said countless times, including this month, he's not running? And done nothing to suggest he's bullshitting anyone?

OK, thanks. I've done a poor job keeping up.
