Is Mitt running for president again?

The more tea-party types who jump in and slice the vote thinner and thinner, the more likely it'll be that a moderate will win the nomination, whether it be Jeb or Mitt.

We remember the flavor-of-the-month GOP race in 2012, during which Mitt was finishing second week after week. Before you knew it, Mitt had built enough of a delegate total to make it a done deal. (That's kind of how Clinton won in 1992, also. Super Sunday was the knockout blow.)

As long as every tea partier with a pulse is getting into the race, they don't have a chance. You got two quarterbacks, you got no quarterback.

I haven't heard Rubio mentioned. Walker is also mentioned a lot. Ryan has said he's not running.

I hope it's Walker or Paul.

My worry with Paul is that he'd be an example of someone who might fare better in a national election than he will in the primaries.

I wonder if Christie is even going to bother running.

I would argue William Jennings Bryan is better known for the Scopes Trial than he is his failed presidential attempts.

Paul Walker was dead on arrival

I would argue that he was known for a nice park that used to be infested with drug dealers

You can be sneaky about it. Hillary is fundraising and she hasn't declared yet, and I'm sure the same thing can be said about likely candidates in both parties.

It looks like Walker is going to get in. Paul is in. Christie is almost certainly in. Rick Perry is probably going to run.

Then we've got the guys who can "live off the land" and who will get in regardless if their ability to raise money like Santorum (who does have Foster Frieze's money behind him) Huckabee and Ben Carson.

So, the "establishment", "conservative", and "Tea Party" votes are going to be split.

I think this means that Romney wins. He's got the money, the experience, the name recognition, the team in place, and his last name isn't Bush.

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, swears that if everyone does get in, this is the one time we really will have a brokered convention.

The states that have moved up their primaries are going to have their delegates awarded proportionally as a form of punishment. This means a lot of candidates are going to earn delegates. It will only encourage candidates to get in, so that they will have influence at the brokered convention.

    Should be interesting either way.

I think Pocahontas is going give Hillary a run for her money. Not going away easy.

Isn't it reasonable that he could win? The general election, at least? I think independents know him at this point, know he's not crazy, are comfortable with him. Being out of government this long will be spun as an asset, but it might hurt him.

I never once associated Bryant Park with William Jennings Bryant.

And, actually, Wikipedia says it's named after, "New York Evening Post editor and abolitionist William Cullen Bryant."

Beautiful park. If you visit, be sure to also check out the Library itself, especially the reading room. One of the most beautiful spaces in NYC.

I actually think Jeb is probably the safe pick for the republicans. I will be curious who is the bigger political liability for him, his brother or his wife and daughter.

Hillary would have to royally mess up to lose to Romney.
