That would have been such a pitch-perfect season finale.

The resolution of the Chicago/Pawnee problem was such an obvious copout, but everything else was so great that I can forgive that.

It would be hard to narrow down all the great moments from that ep to even a top 10, but I think No. 1 for me was Ben's face when the singer gave him a look.

I agree that this season has been very much "meh," but I finally caught up with the hour-long season finale, and it was fantastic. Great one-liners, tons of good material, lots of guest stars. The fact that the "Gryzzl" people were playing Ben's Dungeons and Dragons-type game was hilarious. Ben singing along with Letters to Cleo was funny, as was everyone singing the Little Sebastian song. Also enjoyed, "Merger, She Wrote."

The ending, though, makes me wonder where the hell this show is going. Anyone have a guess?

You didn't even mention Bobby Knight Ranger.

Everything I've read makes me think they're going to go through with the time jump.

They couldn't possibly start the final season with Leslie trying to open the Parks Department Pawnee bureau while pregnant. That would be more like a first season of a show. Having it fully functional makes sense.

Very good first 2 hours of the final season. They aren't overdoing the 3 year jump.

I agree they haven't overdone the 3 year jump but disagree the first two hours have been very good. The story line through these episodes didn't work for me.

I'd rather hear a song from Across the Isle

I thought that the two episodes were really good. The Johnny Karate concept episode was really funny and I think worked in the context as a goodbye. The second episode felt a little out of order -- why didn't Ben mention that he was running for Congress?, but had the funny/sweet moments. I've never been a big fan of Tom but he got his moment. And the bit by the mayor's secretary and having Bill Murray as the dead mayor was hilarious.

Some of the ads for the Johnny Karate show were hysterical. It wasn't my favorite episode, but I agree it worked as a goodbye. Loved the dead mayor.
