GB the First suffered in comparison to St. Ron, and his "Read my lips: No new taxes" pledge was Rafael Palmeiro wagging his finger at Congress moment.

This is like those people doing mock drafts in December and January.

    Neither will hold up well.

Yeah not that either is going to make anyone request a fifth spot on Mount Rushmore, but I think W. is looked at a lot more positively now than he was when he left office. It was a similar deal for Jimmy Carter.

That's a pretty low hurdle to clear.

Disagree on Jimmy. He is still considered horrendously awful as a president. He's been outstanding as an ex-president, but that doesn't change the view of his term.

I'd also like to say that if Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton are the final three choices for president, I might consider moving to Tonga or someplace.

    True.

I would think any of those three would be improvements over what we've had for the last 14 years.

It's not like it's Santorum vs. Sharpton.

For what it's worth, Jeb Bush could probably be elected governor of Florida again tomorrow if he were eligible to run. That's a pretty big state that would swing in his favor.

There's no question that Jeb would be a better president than his brother (high bar, I know...) , but I wonder if he has the charm his brother had that got him elected. I tend to think that's always been the difference as to why W. was elected and Jeb wasn't. Charm, and family problems. The media will have a field day with the "little brown ones" as Bush I called them.

I'll agree wholeheartedly with your first point and disagree just as strongly with your second.

And GHWB's polls weren't good enough to get him reelected, right?
