Is Mitt running for president again?

I think there are a lot of Dems hungry for a nominee who is not named Clinton, just as many Republicans don't want another Bush.

Obama proved that Hillary is beatable. The only question is does anyone run this time around who can do the same thing, and Warren is the only one with a chance.

Warren is a liberal. Obama isn't.

Isn't the Dem primary electorate pretty liberal?

Hillary Clinton has never won a tough race. She ran against Rick Lazio in 2000 after Giuliani dropped out after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and a lack of marital fidelity.

I just had to google who ran against her in 2006. I now know the name, but it didn't even ring a bell.

Hillary isn't a natural politician. She doesn't like doing political events or interviews. And, everything she does is a giant production. Read about the logistics involved in getting her to Tom Harkin's "Steak Fry" or the riders that go along with her paid appearances.

Even the Secret Security protection, while it makes it easy to get through traffic, it does separate you from the public. And, Hillary's been cut off from the public for 20 years.

Hillary got tripped up in an NPR interview over a question about gay marriage. She expects the media to be on her side, and when they aren't she's shocked.

If Warren got in, she wouldn't be hampered by an Iraq War vote, or her previous stand on gay marriage. The left would love her, and the media would swoon.

    Remember the SNL debate skit:

It would be a complete repeat if Clinton had to run against Warren.

    Warren would lose 49 states

And Pauline Kael wouldn't know a single person who person who voted for the Republican nominee.

If Warren makes a formidable play in the primaries, I will gladly write her a check for $250. Not because I'm liberal but because she's easier to beat.

Not really. Most of the time it boils down to "Can this one win in November" often with hilariously bad results. 2008 was a break from that since conventional wisdom at the time was that Clinton could win but Obama couldn't (360 electoral votes later- turns out he could).

I don't know nearly enough about Warren and many of her stances to weigh in on her prospects, but I do find it interesting that the single issue she's most known for, income inequality and an economy that isn't working for many Americans, is also the issue that both Democrats and now Republicans feel is of the utmost importance. If she's so beatable and such a lightweight, why is everyone, including plutocratic Mitt, rushing to take up her cause?

If Warren is elected republicans will be pining for the good old days with Obama.

It won't happen though. She'll be crushed and I think she knows that.

This is exactly why she would do so well against Hillary Clinton. It would be a stark contrast. Clinton will raise tons of money from Wall Street bankers and hedge fund operators. Warren could easily paint her as being too closely tied to Wall Street's interests.

And, Clinton is awkward when she tries to speak on this subject. She either talks about how she was dead broke, and could barely afford the mortgages on her multimillion dollar houses, or she tries to parrot Warren, with lines about businesses not creating jobs, which she then has to clarify/apologize for.

Clinton might still beat her, but Warren would be incredibly disruptive to Clinton's campaign.
