Guy gets all yoked in his late 20s to early 30s and now can't do anything in his late 30s approaching 40.

I have never seen this story before in sports.

Golf, and golf media, is about to experience a real come to Jesus moment. The interest in Tiger is still enormous, and so the coverage of this train wreck is still important, but the blind optimism that every comeback will be "the one" and that his return to greatness is so important and predestined to happen is going to begin to look like a farce. (I mean, it does already for those paying attention, but the larger public will start to catch on.) I don't mind The Golf Channel spending 20 minutes on his round during Golf Central. People want to talk about his struggles. But the pre-tournament coverage, as you pointed out, looks truly embarrassing in retrospect. "Maybe he and Phil will be dueling in the final group on Sunday! He's a real contender here if he puts a few good rounds together! He's hitting it further than he has in 1o years!"

This is why I've always been a fan of Brandell Chamblee, even though he is the most hated man in golf for Tiger's fans. His perspective, while sometimes over the top, was far closer to reality than the blind cheerleading.

Was it Steve Sands, who has been masturbating over him for 15 years? Sands was the one who started the whole, "Tiger's built like a free safety" crap. And Tiger WAS built like a free safety....a high school free safety.

Maybe Woods should listen to Trevino and Player. Hell, a drunk Rocco Mediate even said that he could fix Tiger in 15 minutes last night.

Tiger is DFL right now, three shots behind Troy Kelly and Michael Hopper. Needs to go birdie-birdie on his last two holes --- to shoot 80.

I have to share this post I saw on Facebook today from a guy I went to high school with. It might be the greatest Facebook post I've seen in years. And I quote....[deep breath].....

"His pos self has been done for 5 years be never has or would threaten the golden bear. He was sorrta like the bills of the 90's play way above themselves but he happened to win a few to even remotely compare his shitty ass to Nicholson is an embarrassment...I u like or root for tiger ur a fool he could not shine jacks spikes on his cleats. I'm sorry if offend anyone but if u think other wise ur just as stupid as his ass for thinking different tale them both at there prime Nichol"

There it is, in all its glory. Soak it in.

Actually got physically ill listening to Mike Breed talk up Tiger's comeback this week. "Driving farther than 2002," "leaner and swinging without fear," blah fucking blah. etc. All-time fail and I hope people here will call him on it. Jesus H. Christ on a pogo stick. BARF.

I've said it before: if Tiger wants to catch Jack, he needs to play competitively, with fire and motivation, like Michael Jordan, on a full time basis. He needs to enter almost every tournament. This part time golfing shit isn't cutting it. He needs to play as frequently as he did in college and in his early years.

Sure, monetarily, he doesn't need to. But if he ever hopes to get his game back and catch Jack, he needs to try to grind through and win even minor events on a weekly basis so that he is primed for the majors.

Well, there is also the issue of his health, though he could have played more often when he was.
