How about a Super Bowl 49 thread?

If Lynch got the ball and scored the game-winning TD, the interviews would have been priceless.

Another Pete Carroll gag. Went for it on fourth down in the Rose Bowl against Texas. Didn't run it from the 1 with Marshawn Lynch.

Lynch would get that TD, the Int was on 2nd down. He gets that yard in 3 plays

Say Lynch scores on second down. Seahawks go up by 3.

Brady gets the ball back with about 20 seconds, depending on the kickoff, and two timeouts. He still had time to drive for a tying field goal to send it to overtime.

Say Lynch is stopped on second down. Seahawks call their timeout. Likely, they pass on third down to have another play should the pass fail. And then they have fourth down. Very probably, they score. But there still is a chance that they get stopped.

Compare that to one snap and a kneel down and the game's over.

Of course, Carroll's call is in the biggest game of the year, but it's hindsight because the play could have worked and put them ahead. The Giants call happened on a final play that wouldn't have changed the outcome unless they totally forked it up. Which they did.

Dumb call by Carroll, no doubt. But not the worst in history. The win wasn't locked up even if the Carroll call succeeded.

Had Lynch been stopped for a loss at all during the game? That might be the worst big game play call I've ever seen. Even if it worked, it was utter lunacy.

I looked it up. He wasn't stopped for any losses, but he had two times when he was stopped for no gain.

I want to thank the Seahawks.

I had Patriots 8, Seattle 4 on two of the three boards I was on and by throwing the ball instead of running it, I won $750.

Thank you Seattle.
