  3. The Seahawks will still probably be the favorites in the NFC next year, but the window is getting smaller. They'll have to give Russell Wilson a large contract, and Lynch will get a large extension as well. It'll be hard to get those nice above-average defensive pieces they've had around Sherman, Chancellor and Wagner to stay.

The Saints are in salary cap hell and probably won't be much of a factor next year, but the Packers, Panthers, Lions and Cowboys should all be legit challenges to win the conference next year. Either way, I honestly think Pete Carroll will remember this game for at least a year and a half.

That photo shows Butler is closer to the goal line than Lockette. No wonder he beat him to the spot.

Butler said in his on field interview that when he saw the receivers stacked, he knew the pick play was on. If true, that's some damn good prep work by the Patriots D.

I'm still pissed that the Seahawks blew it, but I laughed out loud at that one. Well done.

We were discussing that at the party I was at. We kind of came down on the side of what the Patriots did because it comes down to do you trust your defense or do you trust your special teams to not fuck up trying something different? Try to kick toward the corner and kick it OB, and they start at the 40. Try to kick shorter and you risk a long return. We figured the Patriots probably had more faith in their defense.

Shouldnt this be an offensive hold anyway? That the rule was that a WR cant block until the pass is airborn?

You have to give Pete Carroll credit. He promised Bob Kraft he'd win him a Super Bowl one day. It just took 19 years to make good.

I don't think that one is in the conversation at all. The Cardinals did not run the ball well. They knew going in they would win or lose that game on Warner's arm. Warner even read the defense perfectly. Harrison was supposed to blitz, but decided to drop on his own at the last second.

Bottom line is the Cardinals went with their strength on that play. The Seahawks went away from their strength and it cost them the Super Bowl.

Well, in less than 30 minutes, it will be Groundhog Day, and Pete and Seattle will be living this one over and over.
