I know an easy way to avoid therapy: Put down the Ho-Hos.

Admittedly, I can sometimes be pretty judgmental towards overweight people.

By eating right, and exercising, we can control our weight. (And, I say this as someone who needs to lose at least 10 pounds.)

But, if you are morbidly overweight, simply exercising can be extremely difficult.

But, gastric bypass surgery cannot be the final step towards living a healthy lifestyle. It will certainly jump start the process, but it needs to be an ongoing process.

Actually, on the thread about Johnny Football going to rehab, an analogy was made about binge drinkers being similar to someone having too much to eat at a single meal.

I don't think the analogy works.

I think you can be a binge drinker, and be considered an alcoholic. Not needing a drink first thing in the morning doesn't mean you aren't an alcoholic. And, only drinking in social settings doesn't mean you aren't one.

If you get drunk every time you drink, you might me an alcoholic. If having one drink means you are having 10 drinks, you night be ab alcoholic.

And, that's what makes eating disorders so much different than any other disorder. An alcoholic can theoretically abstain from alcohol. If you don't have the first drink, you won't have the proceeding nine.

But, someone with an eating disorder has to eat every day, so it's always on the mind, and always a temptation.

Even cocaine addicts are told not to drink alcohol, because doing so may make you crave the drug you really want -- coke.

But, if you love ho-hos, every meal you eat is going to make you crave them.

I like to have multiple drinks because they taste so goddamned good.

It's like reading Playboy for the articles, I know.

Hey, I'm with you. I like a well balanced cocktail or two on occasion. But, I don't like to feel out of control, and I hate being hungover.

I know. I've always said that beer and spirits would be perfect if they, first, didn't get you drunk, and, second, didn't get you fat.

I drink very little beer these days, even though I love a good beer. I just find it too filling -- and I know that doesn't make me sound very manly.

I opened one the other night, and didn't even finish it.

And, some of the best beers only come in large format bottles, and it's really unlikely that I'm going to sit down and drink 22oz in one sitting on a random night while eating dinner or watching TV.

The problem with beer is most of the stuff I really like is 9 or 10 percent alcohol - like imperial stouts - and those are about 300 calories a bottle.

Plus, as I've told my wife, I'm much less likely to have to get up and pee during the night drinking a 3 1/2 ounce cocktail than a 12-oz. beer.

I don't know what's oozing. All I'm saying is that Bruce Jenner as a woman isn't sexually appealing to me. If you like it, that's great. More power to you.

That's alcohol abuse! And so is spilling it.
