Mariota or Winston?

We'll see. I just don't believe Winston has the willingness to mature, but he does love the game. I hope I'm wrong about him, especially if the Bucs do take him.

I think it's a deliberately planted story so if he comes up short at his pried raft workouts there is a built in excuse. If he lives up to expectations then he's a tough guy working thru injuries

Aaron Rodgers was dangerously close to a failure, then.

Mariota got hurt on a play right near the end when he landed on his shoulder with a DL on top of him. Judging from the replays I think the injury is legit.

I think you meant slipping out of the first pick instead of round.

I would not touch Winston with a 10-foot stick.

No, I'm pretty sure there were people herre stating that Winston would not be a first rounder and that he should return to school.

Rodgers was drafted to sit, they just didn't know how long he would have to.

There are a few quarterbacks who can walk into almost any situation and make the team immediately better. I think Luck and Peyton are the best examples of that.

Mariota and Winston can be successful in the NFL, but so much will likely depend on what team they go to and if that team has the pieces in place for them to succeed, like a good OC, QB coach or a HC with that kind of experience. Both of these guys are going to need that.

Winston is very good at football. He'll be very good in any offense he's in. He might get arrested/suspended/whatever before it's all said and done (I honestly have no idea what to give the odds of either of those happening). But just in terms of what he can do on the football field? Yeah, he's going to be good. No matter where he goes.

I could very easily see Winston coming out and having success similar to Cam Newton. I'm not comparing them because of their styles of play, because they're different players, but both had character issues coming out of college. I don't think anyone here thought Newton would have the level of success that he's had.

Yes indeed. I remember asking that question, who would you take instead of Winston, and Kevin Hogan of Stanford was one of the answers.

This is the Clowney deal all over again. Many pearls clutched over his behavior.

I'm just waiting for someone to say they were right about Clowney because he got injured.

Newton hasn't been worth the No. 1 pick. He hasn't improved since his rookie season.
