Mariota or Winston?

Not sure I'd call him a buffoon, but he's had some strange takes in recent years. When I was covering the league, I thought he was one of the better writers out there. I don't really think that anymore.

Mariota. Just a feeling but I suspect Lovie thinks he can dovie Winston but once the kid gets all that money in his pocket, Jameis ends up like Jamarcus.

You do realize that you're comparing him to the biggest bust of all-time?

Do you honestly believe that Winston will become the biggest bust of all-time? Or is this just more hyperbole because there is no way he can be anywhere between Ben Roethlisberger (the QB he seems to be compared to the most) and JaMarcus Russell? I don't think he'll be as good as Roethlisberger, but I definitely don't think he's going to be out of the league in 3-4 years like Russell was.

    It's just a lazy opinion.

Yes. No, but wouldn't be surprised if he is a bust.

    My opine of your statement.

Don't we have to call off the Roethlisberger comparisons a little bit after the 40 time? He was .2 slower than Roethlisberger. That's not insignificant.

"All that money in his pocket."

Where would Winston have to be drafted to not "end up like JaMarcus?" Fifth-round? Is fourth-round money still too much for him to handle?

He still plays a lot like Roethlisberger, doesn't he? That hasn't changed. And generally speaking, neither are straight-line fast.

He does play a lot like him, I agree. I'm wondering if there's another comp at all.

Maybe, but I think Roethlisberger is the best comp.

Off the top of my head, I thought of Daunte Culpepper, but he was a lot bigger, right? I'd have to look it up

Edit: Culpepper ran a lot more. And was a lot bigger. Bad comp.

Edit2: Whoa. Culpepper ran a 4.52 at the combine. At 255 lbs apparently. Pretty freakish.

First two picks. Answer to your last question: yes, unfortunately. Look, I hope I'm wrong but the kid just seems so immature. I sincerely hope he grows up. Fast.
