OK, so what the hell was the significance of Barcelona's big win over Manchester United?

Every article I read seems to assume that I already know. In fact, I bet half the assholes watching it and acting like they care don't know. Does the reporter even know? Does everyone just show up at these goddamned spectacles and fake it together?

Barcelona was third place in Spain, Manchester City second place in England, Europeans have the "Champions League" which is where the best teams in Europe play vs each other every year.

Its like the ncaa tournament for Europeans, they are in the round of 16, they will crown the best club in Europe from this tournament.

Is it a series? How many games? How long does the season go on? Why are there like three trophies? I couldn't tell from the story which one they are playing for right now. Only that the dude who bit someone was back, and that soccer is a Beautiful Game.

In play off is 2 games, home and visit, Barcelona will probably win the second game at home and move into the elite 8.

Real Madrid or Bayern Munich will prob win this tournament, they have the strongest teams in Europe.

Think as it was the bk ncca tournament but for the best clubs in Europe.

How the hell do you have a two-game playoff series?

Whoever score more goals goes through.

They also have the away-goal rule, means if they tie in goals, the visiting team that score more goals goes through.

It's not that hard to follow, maybe other than the fact that you don't need to be a "champion" to be in the Champions League. Regardless, the knockout rounds of the Champions League -- which started yesterday and will be played Tuesday and Wednesday over the next couple of months -- are probably the best soccer games in the world.

I like it, it force coaches into playing attacking tactics, the more goals they score, the more chances they have... sounds funny but its a good way of avoiding boring defensive games.
