The character of the mom of the slapped kid so resembles so many mothers today that it's truly frightening.

I didn't hate the Thurman episode, but it definitely reeked of them reaching to try to fill eight episodes over what could probably be told in half that many.

Anyone start House of Cards Season 3 yet? We're going to try to watch some of it this weekend. We'll probably plow through it in a week, hopefully.

Just watched the first episode. Good, but a little slow. More focus than I would have liked on a certain storyline I can't mention without posting a major spoiler.

A few episodes in. Interesting to see a cameo by Pussy Riot
Also interesting to see John Doman make an appearance as a priest since he played Renaissance Era Frank Underwood (aka Pope Alexander) in 'Borgia'

  6. Season 2 of Orphan Black just dropped on Amazon Prime!

Love that show. It just has a different sort of feel from a bunch of other stuff on TV, and Maslany shows off so much versatility. It's one of my weekly "must watch within 24 hours" shows, along with Justified, Fargo and True Detective.

The Last Man on Earth with Will Forte premiered on FOX tonight, which is exactly what it sounds like. Really oddball concept, and I'm not sure how well it'll hold up over 10 or 13 or 20+ episodes, but I loved the double episode start. It's definitely unique, so that will keep me watching, but it could make it a tough sell to a mass audience. (I also loved Jericho, which got a season plus six episodes, but that was a drama, a decade ago and also on CBS.)

Last Man on Earth got great reviews which stunned me. I'm going to give that a shot.

We're through five episodes so far. I'm enjoying it.

Thought it was amusing at times. However, I couldn't get past wondering where all the rotting corpses had gone? And if there was no electricity, how was he able to pump gas -- not to mention watch the 'Castaway' DVD?
