Sorry, that should have read, "... no need for a poker face." I was reading her expression and I thought the look on her face was one of, "Ooh, a piece of candy." It wasn't a poker face or calculating look that would indicate an ulterior motive.

Gotcha. I think we just read the scene differently. I admit my idea is pure speculation based partly on Carol giving us another glimpse into how manipulative and nasty she can be with the little boy.

Well, I've been on the road and just watched latest episode last night.

    It was boring.

I dig the tension, but the pace is so glacial that I find it frustrating.

Hi Buck...I didn't realize Michael Bay was on this board. :)

See, I find his movies boring, too, at least the ones I've seen.
I literally fell asleep during each of the Transformer movies.

But it's an interesting point I have been around but never really nailed down.
I often get the feeling that TWD producers and writers believe that if too much happens in consecutive episodes, the show will be perceived as dumb, as Michael Bay-esque.
But the show often fails to distinguish between action and momentum. Often an episode has plenty of the former yet still lacks the latter.
The episode when Darryl and Carol go into Atlanta had action but no momentum. The story meanders and stalls too often. That is what frustrates me, not a lack of action or zombie killing.

I am in no danger of not watching. I'm a fan this season overall.

So Carol is going to get busted for stealing chocolate rather than for sneaking out guns?
That should allow her to undermine the kid's (Sam's?) credibility, if he were to rat her out.
Rick will take out the dad, Carol will off the kid, leaving the mom for Rick and his new nuclear family.

Wow. No spoilers right now, but that was a GRUESOME death. Solid action, and some good storylines left to explore.

Seems like the theories about Carol's situation weren't quite right. Interesting situation to put Carol in given her own personal history.

There were a couple of really nasty deaths in this one. The second one was pretty easy to see coming from very early in the episode. Gotta give the person a moment before they kill the character off, right?

I LOVE what they did with Carol regarding the domestic violence stuff.
If you're a first-time viewer of the show and haven't been watching since S1, it could seem like a stretch that she would jumps from "Stupid kid wants a gun" to "Oh, I guess his dad beats his mom," but given her history, I LOVE the little subtle way she knows what's going on.
    That's quality character development.
Also, I half expected her to beat that guy's ass. Would be a nice thing to see given how frail and awful she was with her husband in the first season.
As for the rest of the episode, I got spoiled on who from our main cast died so I wasn't shocked at all and didn't think the death was all that important, at least not enough to justify the responses I saw on my FB last night but all in all I liked it as an episode.
The thing I'm most interested in, though, is the idea of the group split and Gabriel essentially screwing over these people who have saved his life countless times.
And big props for Eugene this episode. Dude is finally a compelling character. Love how different he is from the rest of the cast.

Maybe it was just the way that the character died, but it elicited a strong reaction from me. I liked the character and/or I felt bad for [it]. Glenn was on Talking Dead with the character and they talked about their similarities. I can see how this character had potential.

Really liked the Gabriel scene; looking forward to see how everyone else reacts when they find out.

Edit: when is it appropriate to start talking about episodes without spoiling things? Two days later?

I'd say the next day is fair game honestly. If you haven't seen the show, why would you jump into the thread where you know people are discussing it?
I didn't watch last week's episode until last night so I just stayed away from this thread. I'd guess others should be able to do the same. It's not like this is the Pro Wrestling Thread and then, bam, suddenly there's a Walking Dead spoiler. People have to know what they're getting into by clicking in here.

The Gabriel scene was fantastic, but it's only a matter of time before the folks of Alexandria find out what he did at his church.

And the last death scene? My goodness, that just may have been the most gruesome on the show. I wasn't shocked to see another character get killed off, but I was kinda taken aback by who it was.
