RS, I went ahead and dug up those stats for the ACC because I was curious.

    1 seeds, 95-08: 12
    1 seeds: 09-present: 10
    Sweet 16, 02-08: 14
    Sweet 16, 09-14: 11
    Lottery picks, 03-08: 12
    Lottery picks, 09-14: 13

In other news, a Colorado player refuses to play in the CBI, because frankly, nobody gives a shit about the CBI.

Askia Booker to skip Colorado Buffaloes' CBI appearance - ESPN

Good for him. They want you to put in extra practice time and make money off extra games, make them give you something for those extra games.

Someone makes money from the CBI?

    Who knew?

How Oklahoma State lost 6 of its final 7 but still got in is beyond me.
Texas had a dogshit season, too, and deserved no reward. UCLA is a third program which is living off its past reputation.
And 27-win Colorado State gets the shaft, plus Duke lands in Charlotte enroute to an easy berth in the Sweet 16.
This whole thing's crooked as hell.
I've got Wisconsin winning it all.

The NCAA must appease the power conferences in every way it can think of, lest they form their own organization and leave the D-2s and D-3s bereft of revenue.

    I love this.

    It's a crooked, rigged travesty.

But I'm watching and filling out a bracket.

Yep, those three getting in is a farce, and IU ain't far behind em.

And also a farce was the NCAA's decision to expand to 68 just so that it could hand out a few more at large bids to those power conference teams that had crappy seasons. Sorry, NCAA, but I don't want to watch 13 loss teams that finished 7th in their conference competing for the national title.

Well, that was a fun game. Ole Miss scores 62 points in the second half, wipes out a 17-point deficit and wins 94-90 in an entertaining as hell game for the right to play Xavier.

Of course, every time a team gets out of the First Four they should play that clip from "Road House" before the next game, where Dalton and the blind band leader are chatting and one of them says, "Man, this is worse than that toilet we worked in Dayton."

I'm 33 and filled out my first bracket. All lower seeds and worst records advancing. 5,000-1 Lafayette as my national champion. I'd put $1 on that if I knew where to bet. I'm not good at this sort of thing.

Yes it was an entertaining nightcap to kick off the tourney.
Ole Miss came out immediately in second half and defended up top much better, and they ponied up behind the sensational play of relative unknown national commodity Stefan Moody. The tall kid Saiz was also outstanding tonight.
Andy Kennedy has grown so much as a coach, improving his recruiting and play designs and getting his players to buy-in and stay the course. He was an intense high school star in Mississippi when I was coming through and relates to young kids well today. None of us wants to feel like we've hit 50 or are getting old, do we?
Great win for the Rebels and sort of a microcosm of what the NCAA hardwood game has morphed into.
There's tons of talent and parity on the prep level that can bolster collegiate rosters across the nation.
