Next year, Man U will replace City as Chelsea's main threat. Year after that, sky's the limit.

Man U has to get back into Europe and get that Champions League money first. There's finally a little separation among the top four and they're in good shape. Mammoth six-pointer win today.

If they fall out, though, they'll miss Europe for two straight years, and that's a financial killer for them. They'll be out of the transfer sweepstakes — and LVG will be sent packing. Back to square one.

Right now, Liverpool is the key challenger to them. I think that Southampton and Spurs are going to come up just short.

There is also the small chance that City could completely implode.

I was very impressed with Southampton yesterday against Chelsea.

No one can win a second leg game but come up just short on aggregate quite like the Gunners.

The top five teams in the EPL have mathematically avoided relegation. The last time these teams competed in the second tier of English football: Arsenal 1915; Liverpool 1962; Man U 1975; Chelsea 1989; Man City 1999. (Yes, it's been a century since Arsenal last got the drop.)

Thats why I dont enjoy European soccer as much, the same teams are always on top.

    Arsenal is the anti-Cubs.

Arsenal has never "gotten the drop." They won promotion (albeit under dubious circumstances) in 1919 and have never gone down.

Last league title was the Invincibles 11 years ago so I don't know about anti-Cubs, but certainly not the Cubs.

The smartest thing which NBCSN does is keeping the announcers silent for the pre-game "You'll Never Walk Alone" at Anfield.
