Glenn, Carl and Rick are the only regulars still "alive" from the first episode. It used to bug me when the show would kill off characters I cared about. It bugs me more when they kill off characters who I'm left wondering what their point was to begin with - what they brought to the larger narrative.

People die in real life all the time for no real reason. Why can't they in TV? Seems more real that way.

Eh. I don't know. Seems implausible. Noah survives, what, a couple of years on his own and then dies maybe a month or two into getting with Rick's group?
I agree with Dan, sometimes these deaths are kind of pointless.
And we all know Gabriel isn't long for this world.

It's not a very good theory. Earlier this season, there were six black characters in the cast - Michonne, Tyreese, Bob, Sasha, Noah and Gabriel. It arguably has had the most diverse cast on television, with Asian, black, Hispanic and gay characters all playing large roles, and the cast is loaded with strong female characters.

It's probably because of all the memes about T-Dog, but they have done an excellent job of diversifying the cast. And, for the most part, the roles are all pretty race neutral.

As for this week, I loved the episode, though the death was spoiled for me because I record the later edition of the show and my DVR caught the last minute of Talking Dead. Gabriel's an asshole.

I think the show is Gay-ist. Aaron always looks like he just washed and ironed his sporty LL Bean outfit, even when he's been in the woods for a spell. Or maybe everyone looks tidy next to Darryl.

Sh--'s getting serious now in Alexandria, so I'm guessing Darryl has missed his chance to wash and trim that oily-ass hair of his.

I think the possum he killed when they first arrived at Alexandria crawled out of his hair.

What if he had a flea dip and a mani pedi?

Seriously, saw him on a talk show recently with the same greasy hair! He did some modeling as a young actor.
