Yes. I was "harassed" via PM by three different people. I know of at least a couple of other people who were also "harassed," and one could say "stalked."

Most of the teasing IS good natured. What I mention above was not. In any way, shape or form.

I'm not going to sweat it because, as has been said, it's just a message board. The harassment is one of the major reasons people no longer view it as more than that.

Thin Skinned Person is doing a wonderful job of proving 21's point. He doesn't need your help, Mr. Likable.

I believe you. I think it's bizarre and somewhat fascinating, but it's hard to comment intelligently without more info. (Not that I'm asking for any.)

But, something like that should be easy to handle.

I know of a few incidents. Most of them involve female members of this board, most of whom no longer post here.

Based on what? Spending too much time on it at work, after being warned about it? Because they posted nasty things about their employer, and their anonymity wasn't as "veiled" as they thought it was?

The same could be said of Facebook.

It's also very different that someone trying to get someone fired.

I see plenty of evidence of people complaining about being "followed" around the board. That's not evidence of it happening.

I don't remember the "trying to get someone fired" incident.

There have always been a few here who will take advantage of some of the people here who are either open about their identity or who don't hide it as well as some of us and then throw things back in their faces, and make things personal. There's been a lot of that in the past year or two.

Jeff explained that he limited the number of posts per page to increase page views. He also explained that he nuked the entire Random Images thread because he wanted to remove the pictures he felt would damage his ability to attract advertisers and, therefore, the ability of the site to generate revenue. A perfectly understandable free market action of a property owner, but it does show that, as copperpot suggested, he has a plan to boost page views.

Of course, this also demonstrates his willingness to pull entire threads.

I think part of the reason people react so strongly to this is that this is not just a message board. Some of us have been here, or the earlier version of this board, for 15 years.

Dude, you have had more handles than a CB radio. At least he has kept TSP through it all.
