So which league isn't elite, the ACC or the Big East?

I thought Western won that game.

Any idea where Newell is these days? Last I recall, he was still grinding at West Alabama.

Guy deserved a season or two more to try and build a base. That said, he is not as fiery as some alums would prefer ... and he hasn't won much or built ANY fan support. Not even the Kentucky game was played with a full arena and the others had maybe a third of the seats taken.
I wish he'd gotten more time.

Howland's defense first, sludgeball approach would never work at UNLV. It's Vegas. They want glitz and glamour. Not grind-it-out, 60 to 58 games.

Shaka Smart wouldn't be interested in UNLV, would he? I get the impression he'll only jump for a top-20 level job.

Kind of like Brad Stevens before he left for the Celtics, I'm not sure what gain Smart gets out of going to a lower tier BCS / power conference school. Like if one of the marquee jobs opened up in the next five years, I'm positive Smart would get contacted about it, and he's got a good pipeline and contract going at VCU.

I've been told if Billy Donovan ever leaves, Smart is at the top of the list to replace him. I think it will take a Kentucky, Florida, Louisville, Carolina, Kansas level opening to get Smart's interest.

Howland would be a great fit at Mississippi State.

OK. I've said this for 3 years now. If Gregg Marshall doesn't leave now, he never will.

    He's not leaving......is he?
