Could be wrong about Goldie. He might have played with the Mariners rather than the Gulls. Last I heard, he still lived there.

The Thrashers were in Rosemont. A good time can be had in either Atlanta or Chicago clubs.

I remember Willie O'Ree on the L.A. Blades, then a Blackhawks affiliation.
Iffy on Nashville-Milwaukee. Never been to either, but perception tells me Nashville is better.
I also thought about the Winnipeg connection, but I didn't spend the time to look up where its minor league teams are.
I just wondered if some MLB organization has a team in a cool city in Florida. I'm only peripherally interested in the depth of sports these days so it's hard to keep up with all the moves and realignments.

I don't care if the Jets farm team is Beirut, it's still better than Winnipeg.

New York Islanders sign Leddy to a seven-year extension at $5.5 million per. It will be interesting if the Isles can reign in Boychuk too.

Off tonight and planning on taking in Montreal-St. Louis, then Detroit-Los Angeles. Tough shootout loss for the Red Wings at Anaheim last night. I thought Detroit was pretty dominating through two. Calgary's post-season hopes are probably on the line with a seven-game road trip beginning tonight at MSG.

Joel Quenneville won his 750th game last night. He'll catch Arbour for No. 2 next year. Just seems like yesterday he was taking over for Keenan in St. Louis.

Only time will tell, obviously, but Stafford and Myers have been significant contributors in Winnipeg's push toward the playoffs.

So is Anaheim's goaltending going to sink the Ducks in the playoffs and cost Boudreau his job? Poor Crabby, it seems every post-season either his goalies fail him or the other club's guy plays out of his mind.

Boudreau has to go if the Ducks don't at least make the conference final, and that may not be enough to save him.

He's proven time and again that he's not a good playoff coach.

I'll probably be lambasted, then again there's not much life on the NHL thread anymore, but I would not be surprised to see Boudreau land in Toronto. Dreamed of playing for the Maple Leafs and did but that experience, overall, was very disappointing to him. With his ambition and ego, I think he'd take it if offered. And it would be fun watching him spar with the Toronto media.

    IMHO,
Certain openings: Toronto, Buffalo and Arizona. No rationale needed on the first. Nolan isn't going take the Sabres anywhere. Tippett makes too much money and probably doesn't want to stay. He'll land another gig.

Possibles in no particular order and depending on the playoffs, if applicable: Anaheim, St. Louis, Boston, Edmonton, Columbus (though that wouldn't be fair to Richards, CBJackets hit hard by injury), Philly. I feel like I'm forgetting someone obvious? Anyone?

Oh, just thought of San Jose. Add that to the certains, unless some kind of miracle occurs and the Sharks not only manage to make the playoffs but actually accomplish something.

Yeah, as I alluded above, I think he's been hijacked by playoff goaltending more than anything else. I don't recall the guy ever having a true stud in net for the playoffs. While in Washington, he also ran into Halak (Montreal) and Tampa Bay. Cannot remember if that was Roloson or not.
