Rick Barnes will be let go at Texas, but not until after April 1. The reason: After that date, his buyout drops substantially. The university can save a quarter-million.

That's his fault for not having a July 1 date or something in his contract for the buyout to drop. Waiting until April 1 won't hurt the school in the least.

I know he's been linked to every opening up to (and probably including) SE Missouri State on this thread, but I could see Texas throwing so much money at Marshall that he'd be an idiot to say no.

 

I'm the last person who wants to defend Wojo, but you can't seriously be judging him off one season where the roster was a mess post-Buzz Williams. Without Matt Carlino coming in as a grad transfer, I'm not sure Marquette would have had any offense this year.

Wojo's got one of the best recruiting classes Marquette has ever seen coming in next year. I doubt they're going to be at the bottom of the league for long.

 

Also heard Pastner's name tossed about for Arizona State.

The state of college basketball is such that I am 70x more interested in the coaching vacancies than I am watching the actual games.
