See as how Cameron Crowe worked for Rolling Stone, I always imagined it was intentional. Rat was just that big an idiot.

I thought I read somewhere they couldn't afford the music rights to IV.

Crowe was just a lowly screenwriter at that time, so I'm not sure how much he had to do with the final cut and soundtrack. But I would have thought Amy Heckerling would have known better.

Amy Heckerling bungled those music rights like 38 coaches have bungled their chance to beat Kentucky.

Basically agree. Interesting how these guys' booth performance often defies their prior reputation. Throughout their playing careers, we were told how brilliant and interesting Shane Battier and Grant Hill are, two players surely headed for post-playing media stardom. Then they both go into broadcasting, and both plainly SUCK at it, maybe the two worst out there today.

Hardly. Great threadjack, or at least one of the more unusual ones. Don't often get a major sporting event thread randomly run off the rails, albeit by one of the premier rock and roll masterpieces of the 1970s, and beyond.

Save me a piece of that custard pie....

Duke's guards can play. Kentucky ain't rollin' Duke by 15.

I might have put Harrell on the First Team. I also think they should have the POY and then 5 on the First Team.

The Stillwater songs pretty much give it away.

If the title game is Kentucky-Duke, the linesmakers can't make a number high enough to stop me from laying the points. Right now, on a neutral court, the Sagarin numbers say Kentucky would be favored by about 3.5; if that's the case I'll be taking out a second mortgage and asking my neighbors to help me push it all through the betting windows.
