I don't know. I guess it could be a toss up. To me, though, it just seems as though he's been more dominant this past year with the Streak, the Cena match, and last Sunday. That could also be recency effect, too. Either way, he's the main reason I'm tuning in these days.

Plus, any argument that includes him DESTROYING the Hardy brothers and Hogan should be immediately mocked and discounted. :)

Ahh, Lesnar vs. the Hardys, which gave us this. And he never left his feet.

Hey! Hogan at the time was only like two months removed from a world title reign, and three months removed from his classic Wrestlemania match with The Rock.

I watched that Hogan-Rock match a week or three ago. The most fascinating part was watching and listening to the crowd reactions.

I've been wanting to find the time to go back and watch all those old Saturday Night's Main Event broadcasts. I assume they're on the Network. I used to get so pumped when it came on back in the 80s instead of Saturday Night Live.

WCW Starrcade 1992 is playing on the Network now. Announcers are JR and Ventura. I either never knew or totally forgot that those two worked together. Pretty awesome.

In the Hardys' book, they had an interesting rationalization for blasting him. They said they knew he was going to be killing them for the rest of the run, so they were going to take advantage of the one time that they could blast him.

Felt like such a wrestling nerd today. A former well-known WWE wrestler was coming to speak at a local civic club and, since I'm the resident wrestling fan in the newsroom, my ME asked me to do it. I couldn't because of a schedule conflict (which I hated, because I would've loved to have talked to the guy for 10 or 15 minutes) but offered to brief someone on him. ME said send him an e-mail.
In five minutes, off the top of my head, I ripped off a 300-word e-mail about the guy's back story and a couple of potential angles to take on for whoever went to do the story.
    Geek, thy name is Batman.

I enjoy when Bad News Barrett join in the commentary during matches. He's good.

I'm stunned that countouts are still a thing.

So one of the bigger stories hot on the heels of Wrestlemania 31 was the long awaited return of The Celtic Warrior Sheamus. For months we've played the guessing game about when he was coming back, would he turn heel, would he yet again be paired with Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania, but the WWE made the decision to hold off his return and not have him inserted into one of the multiman matches at Wrestlemania, a wise decision in my book. On the post mania Raw, Sheamus would indeed return to Raw, and like many had speculated he was back as a heel, attacking Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler after their competitive match, but I don't think any of us saw the fucking ginger mohawk coming!

Last night on Smackdown Sheamus cut a promo where he asked where all the real men in the WWE have gone? All he sees are small guys like Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan who let the fans down because they can't deliver at the highest level in the WWE. He vowed to take down all of the WWE Universe's favourite underdog heroes and put them out of their misery. He took this new aggressive streak into the main event against Daniel Bryan which he won via countout.

I love this. Sheamus for the longest time has been crying out for a revamp, because he's a great worker in the ring I was always willing to overlook his shortcomings as a wrestler. As a character he's been really dull, they never really developed much beyond he's Irish and he's good at fighting, and his promos don't really stand out among the crowd besides him saying 'fella'. This repackage gives him a chance to really kick start his career again that's been meandering for a good two years now; if a feud with Bryan is the direction they are going in to start with, that's sound alright to me.

New look, New Music, New Attitude. What have you made of the Sheamus return so far?
