He said the Tour covered up Mickelson's gambling woes.

Thanks. Those rumors about Phil were pretty strong years ago -- kind of funny that ESPN Mag just did such a big story about Phil being the king of practice round gambling given the whispers.

Going back to a point that was already brought up, why in the hell did this radio station run with this without double checking things first? Did the station get blindsided with this pronouncement or did it know ahead of time what the dude was saying? The former would make an interesting "taking heads shit their pants" story. The latter opens them up to a lawsuit, no? I assume the full retraction was in response to Tiger's lawyers giving an "or else" demand, but what is going to happen to the station?

This has "82-WD" written all over it.

This only strengthens my belief that Nike gives him massive appearance fees (possibly greater than the winner's share) for majors and other big events.

If Tiger doesn't get it back the last years of this contract for Nike are going to be like the Angels and Josh Hamilton's deal.

Hopefully someday we'll learn the true life story behind Tiger's facade. We've got bits and pieces. Women, check. But are there drugs and PEDs? What led to his downfall?

And how badly has the Nike influence hurt his game? I remember when Nike first started making clubs and Tiger had to start using them. Threw him off for awhile. If I am playing lights out golf, you'd have to pry my current clubs out of my cold dead hands. But when Nike steps in, makes it rain with big bills, and you can rake it in without even winning a tourney, yeah, you change your clubs to Nike.

On second thought, I don't think I want to know the real life story. Sure seems it is turning out to be lesser than what it could have been. Good, but could have been even better and reached his goal of catching Jack.

How about barely makes the cut, blows up on Saturday, and then has to play with the marker on Sunday?

It seems clear that Woods went to Augusta and played a round where he didn't humiliate himself with his chipping and putting and felt OK after walking 18. It seems to me most likely he won't even get to the 82 before he WD's. Jacked up by the crowd and competition, he will let out all the shaft on a tee shot, maybe even the very first one, and spoing! there goes the back.

I wonder if that happens when he's with Lindsey.
