You said it. But I can't disagree. Might not have had good NY pizza, but it's not as tasty as a lot of others I've had.

My wife is from Jersey and swears by the pizza there and in New York. But for years everywhere we went -- midwest, south, everywhere -- we'd find a good place and she'd say it compared to what you could find up there. The ultimate compliment in her mind.

One time I said that maybe if every place in America had NY/NJ quality pizza then maybe it wasn't all that special.

What is it about pizza and one's college town that commands so much loyalty?

People in these parts love Shakespeare's in CoMo.
Daily I miss my Tallahassee favorites, MoMo's (slices as big as your head!) and Decent Pizza.
Leonardo's in Gainesville, however, will always suck. Satchel's is much better.

Currently, I'm in love with the cheeseburger pizza (sub black olives for onions, though) at Minsky's of the KC area.

No green olives, either! or kalamata or whatever the hell they're called. Olives are about the only food I actively despise.

There was one in a building where I had a job today. Did kind of seem out of place.

My niece and her friend came in to town on Sunday, and I showed them some of the sites.

They wanted deep dish, so we went to Giordano's. I wisely had only one slice, so I didn't feel like death the next day.

If I'm ever at Giordano's I order their Chicken Marisala. Or the Mostaccioli with meat sauce. Those were two of my dinner staples when we'd go there for takeout during work dinner hour. Included a nice little salad or cup of soup and some good Italian bread and butter.

Sbarro pizza, no matter how well I made it, sucked. Cheap ingredients.

Anybody remember Godfather's Pizza. Haven't seen that since I was a kid. I also remember when Chuck E. Cheese was Showbiz.
