I think Songbird just flips for guys with the initials G.A.

At least when Muffet McGraw's teams lose they LOSE! 8 of their last 10 losses the last 4 seasons are by 10+ (13, 18, 19, 21 among them). That's the way to do it.

Baylor has lost 14 games the last 5 years, half of them by fewer than 5 points. Mulkey'll never be considered a late-game master tactician.

How many close games do Notre Dame and Baylor win? For instance, say, when they play UConn.

You're getting tiresome and choosing not to see a pretty clear point.

    No, no, no.

How many has she won by fewer than five points? That's the context you need to fairly compare. Maybe she's 30-5.

30 years at UCONN coaching women and not a single complaint about improper behavior with his players. Not even false ones that I can recall. I don't think he should be given a pat on the back for fdong the the right thing but in this day that's a remarkable achievment. unfortunately.

    This year: 1 (4 points)
    Last year: 1 (3 points)
2 years ago: 1 (6 points over UConn ... GENO SUCKS!)
    3 years ago: 2 (5 over UConn, 5)
    4 years ago: 3 (1, 3, 3)

8-7 in games decided by 5 or fewer.

And, for the record, even if the 1-8 record isn't just small sample size noise, but an indication that he's a poor close game tactician, it doesn't mean he's not a good coach. He could be really good at exploiting matchups and so forth with his game plans, which contributes to all these blowouts, but not so great at end game situations.

Possible, I suppose. Although I would not say I have encyclopedic knowledge of UConn basketball, I've probably watched 20-25 games over the years. I don't find that to be the case.

There is just nobody else in basketball to guard his best player most years. When there is someone who would be able to, it's typically one of his other players.

    I'm fine with that.

    Edit: Fine with Dick's assertion.

How many complaints do you hear about improper behavior in ANY women's college basketball program?
