About four episodes of The Slap were really good. Unfortunately, the other four sucked and that included the finale.

I never know what to make of Louie. It's just really tough to watch.

Once they saw the finished product of the Comedians, they should have gone back and made the series a Rashomon-like flashback to a looming tragedy. Crystal: "You know, I really thought it was going to be good, it should have been good, and we started out with good intentions....but...sometime things just happen.." Gad: "The chance to work with Billy Crystal? Of course I was in, I don't know if comedy has changed, or he has - but something was off. I know it wasn't me."

Another amazing episode of Billy and Billie last night. I really hope this show sees more than one 10-episode season. It's one of the best things on.

It's very well done, but it's (at least to me) more awkward than funny.

His standup is awkward, but everybody laughs their ass off. The show is more cringe-inducing than it is funny.

    Besides the ones already mentioned:

Band of Brothers, Game of Thrones, Veep, Vice, The Jinx, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and Real Time with Bill Maher.

Plenty of very good documentaries starting with: We Stand Alone (complementary documentary to Band of Brothers), Citizenfour, Going Clear and Glickman (documentary on sports broadcaster Marty Glickman).

A few more worthwhile series if they're available on HBO NOW (they're available on the OnDemand feature of a regular HBO subscription): Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, Six Feet Under, The Pacific, Generation Kill, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Hung, Extras, Hello Ladies and Rome.

Caught three episodes of Daredevil last night - great stuff so far. Dark and gritty, but not to the Dark Knight "growl at everything" level as of yet.

We've been discussing it on the geek thread. I finished season one. I think it finds its stride when Fisk takes on a larger role. I thought they found good tone and gave just enough origin without getting bogged down by it.

Anyone still watching Nurse Jackie on Showtime? Season 7 started last week.

Kinda hard to be pulling for Jackie around now.

Veep has started with two great episodes. The quality jokes per minute is off of the charts. And JLD and Tony Hale already had their Emmy scene this week.
