A huge percentage of murder cases are circumstantial. I get so tired of hearing commentators on this case point to the "circumstantial evidence" as a reason they thought the case was weak. The jury can make a reasonable inference from circumstantial evidence, which was quite strong.

Admitting he was present seems like a no-brainer to me. If they tried to deny he was there, well then how do they account for his DNA being at the scene? If they ignore it, well, they're hiding something. They had to tackle that head on and try to make the defense that he was there, but it was one of the other two who did it.

The other cases absolutely should go forward. Not for show, but to ensure he stays in jail should this case be overturned on appeal. My understanding is the evidence in those cases is stronger anyway, so you might see a plea. Although a defendant already doing life has zero incentive to plead guilty, so maybe not.

He could pull a Wee Bey and plead guilty in exchange for a pit beef sammich with extra horseradish and potato salad:

Apparently, Hernandez will go to MCI-Cedar Junction facility in Walpole, Mass. It's basically right next to Gillette Stadium. A little less than 4 miles by car (according to Google Maps); a lot shorter as the crow flies.

    From Will Brinson at CBS:

On Wednesday former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, go straight to jail for life without parole as dictated by Massachusetes state law.

    Grow the fuck up.

Yeah, everybody knows if you're going to do a game reference at this point, it has to be Cards Against Humanity.

Did he sing the Florida fight song as they carted him off?

"Urban, can you comment on Aaron Hernandez going to prison for the rest of his life for first degree murder?"

"What kind of a person asks me about something like that? You know you are, you're a bad person. Only a bad person would ask a question like that."

So Belichick and Kraft can visit him every week, which I'm sure they will.
