Linc Darner? Hadn't heard that name in probably 20 years. Good for him. Loved those Purdue teams he was on, and was a captain of, but had no idea what had become of him.

Yep. You should check where former Purdue players under Gene Keady are now. Quite a few are head coaches.

Any word on what Bowling Green is going to do? I would guess some B1G assistants would be on the list.

BG is hiring Michael Hugar, current assistant at Miami and former BG player. He's been coaching under Larranaga forever. I assume he played for him at BG.

I knew about Cuonzo and Painter, just had no idea about Linc. Just looked it up, though, and didn't know Austin Parkinson was coaching women's or that Carson Cunningham was in the NAIA. Any other former players out there? I know there's a bunch of assistants.

Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings played in a Final Four for Keady, I believe.

Keady never went to a Final Four, but Stallings did play for him. My memories of Purdue basketball don't go back that far. I do remember Stallings as an assistant, though.

Kevin Stallings claims Vanderbilt over alma mater

Stallings did play in the Final Four, but Keady was not the coach that season.

Thanks, my mistake. Stallings played on Purdue's Final Four team his sophomore year and played for Keady his junior & senior years.

Speaking of coaching Purdue to the 1980 Final Four, anyone know why the hell Lee Rose left Purdue and the Big 10 in 1980 for....South Florida?
