Travel itself isn't a fringe benefit of the gig, but the location (not in a first-world country), gives me a different starting point. Your far away place is my three-day weekend.

I forgot to bring salt to sprinkle in my soup. Now it's only semi-delicious.

I was supposed to attend a lunch meeting today, where I was to be fed for free, instead I was sent to breaking news and I gobbled two McDoubles in the car.

I will have too many TV shows to catch up on when I get back from my 10 day vacation.

At hotel with free happy hour last night. Salsa was too hot. Had four cups of Budweiser. Not even full size cups. Dinky cocktail plastic cups. Who pours beer into a cocktail cup? Man, last night was tough.

I at with six new co-workers who all work out-of-town and were in the city for a meeting. They all finagled ways to split up their bills so their steaks and drinks and tip didn't exceed their $35 dinner max while I had to foot the bill for my own filet mignon.

Between firmware updates and software installation, it takes 40 minutes for me to get started playing my latest PS4 game. Times have changed.
