In one of my first years in the job, I was covering a satellite pro tennis tournament in Hershey, Pa. And upon turning a corner in the facility, came face-to-face with Dr. Renee Richards.

It was before plastic surgery was done as well as it is today. It was jarring.

Accomplice? Big fan of the legal system, aren't you?

Isn't it thought that he disposed of evidence? And, that he was only on the legal defense team so that he could invoke attorney-client privilege, and not be forced to testify? I don't believe he was actively practicing law at the time of the murders, and certainly not criminal defense.

    From the Times obit:

Mr. Kardashian was also an important figure in the case because he was seen carrying away a garment bag from Mr. Simpson's Rockingham Avenue home the day after the double killing. In the criminal case, he asserted attorney-client privilege and was never called to testify.
    ...
Mr. Kardashian, who received his law degree in 1967 from the University of San Diego, reactivated his dormant lawyer's license after Mr. Simpson's arrest. As a businessman, he turned the idea to have music play between films into a company and in recent years served as president of Movie Tunes.

I didn't watch much of it. Don't care much about Jenner or any of the Kardashian clan and I'm too young to grasp how big of a deal he was as an athlete in the '70s.

The part I did see, though, I was impressed with his son Brandon. He was extremely compassionate and empathetic. I also was impressed that, as he's trying to make it as a musician, he hasn't tried to cash in on his family's celebrity.

I guess this is Bruce Jenner 24/7 Weekend now. Thanks, CNN.

To clarify: No, I don't think that defense attorneys are accomplices.

Sometime in the past few years, I suppose a pole vault has been incinerated.

Unless it is being kept on liquid nitrogen with Ted's head.

Article about Renee Richards from eight years ago:

People Magazine - THE WORLD'S 'MOST FAMOUS' LOOKS BACK - 918W-000-048

Of all the alternative lifestyles, transgendered may be the hardest.

Had a discussion over dinner with some friends recently and they said there is currently a trend among teenagers to not identify with either sex - to be pansexual. Literally, they could go either way.

This boggled my mind - is this just a localized trend in central MD, maybe due to what they are exposed to in schools but also to media? Or nationwide?

    WTF?

Just to put in perspective how remarkable Jenner's decathlon performance was:
    • 10.6 in 100 meters.
    • 50-4 in shot.
    • 6-8 in high jump.
    • 45.5 in 400 meters.
    • 23-8 1/4 in long jump.
    • 164-2 in discus.
    • 224-9 in javelin.
    • 14.84 in 110 high hurdles.
    • 15-9 in pole vault.
    • 4:12.61 in 1500 meters.
That's why they make a point of calling the decathlon gold medalist the "world's greatest athlete."
